The Artificial Landscape: The Ocean, 2018, Paper Shreds
The Artificial Landscape: The Ocean is an installation of two conical piles created by discarded paper shreds that invites contemplations and reflections. It reinterprets the karesansui (Japanese rock garden) in Daisen-in's south garden built in the early 16th century in Kyoto, Japan. The Ocean intends to recreate a meditative experience in various spaces by embracing the concepts of emptiness and impermanence in Zen and Buddhist philosophies.
